How far is San Siro Stadium from the M5 metro?

The M5 line ends at San Siro Stadio, which opens directly onto the stadium forecourt. The previous stop, San Siro Ippodromo, is more convenient for the racecourse entrances and for the residential streets around the ground.

Where are the I-Days festival held?

At the Ippodromo SNAI San Siro, next to the Giuseppe Meazza stadium. From Via Capecelatro 81 the racecourse entrance is even closer than the stadium gates.

Can you hear the concert from flats in the area?

During the show, faintly, yes. Concerts end by 11.30 pm or midnight because of the city noise limits, and the district goes quiet straight afterwards.

Where to stay for a night at San Siro

Short answer: in the San Siro district itself, within walking distance of the stadium and the racecourse. After the last encore, while tens of thousands of people crowd onto the metro and hunt for taxis, you are home in a few minutes.

Why the district beats the centre

The instinct is «stay near the Duomo and take the metro». It works on the way there; the return is the problem. After a stadium event the M5 absorbs very long queues, taxis are hard to get and fares climb. Staying in San Siro turns the evening around: you walk to the gates, you leave when you feel like it, and you depend on nobody's timetable.

Three tips from someone who lives here

Tickets first, accommodation immediately after. On event dates the area fills up weeks in advance.
Arrive in the afternoon. With self check-in from 3 pm you drop your bags, eat without rushing and walk to the gates.
Don't rush the morning after. Check-out is at 10: breakfast in the flat, then the M5 into town for a day as a tourist.
