Where to stay for Artigiano in Fiera 2026, 5-13 December

Short answer: on the metro line to Rho, but not in Rho. From San Siro the halls are about half an hour away, and in the evening you are in the city for the Sant’Ambrogio long weekend, not in an empty exhibition district.

The dates

Artigiano in Fiera 2026 opens on Saturday 5 December and closes on Sunday 13 December, at Fiera Milano Rho, every day from 10 am to 10 pm (dates and hours from the official site). Entry is free, but everyone aged 14 and over must register online for a personal pass, valid for every day; children under 14 go in with an adult.

The Sant’Ambrogio long weekend

The first four days of the fair are Milan’s long weekend: Saturday 5, Sunday 6, Monday 7 December, Sant’Ambrogio, the feast of the city’s patron saint, and Tuesday 8, the Immaculate Conception, a national holiday. If you are coming from abroad, it is the natural window: four days, two of them holidays, for the fair and for the city.

From the flat to the halls

• On foot to the M5: San Siro Ippodromo is 389 metres from the flat, about five minutes.
• M5 to Lotto: two stops, Segesta and then Lotto.
• M1 to Rho Fieramilano: change at Lotto for the M1 towards Rho; the ride takes about 13 minutes and the terminus opens onto the East Gate (Porta Est).
• In all: about half an hour door to hall, a little more if you have just missed a train. No traffic, no parking, any weather.

Why not a hotel in Rho

During the big shows the hotels by the fairground raise their rates and sell out first. Staying on the M1 and M5 axis but outside the fair district costs less, and in the evening you are in the city rather than in an empty exhibition district.

Football the same days

San Siro hosts three games during the fair: Milan v Parma on the weekend of 5-6 December, Milan v Sunderland in the Europa League on Thursday 10 December at 9 pm and Inter v Torino on the weekend of 12-13 December (the league sets the league days and times later: see the events calendar). The streets near the stadium fill up for a few hours around kick-off, then empty again.

• 35 m² studio on the raised ground floor, up to 3 guests: a double bed plus a single.
